Public health physician. Now I build the tools.

15 years running national HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis programmes across Nigeria. I use AI to build the dashboards, automations and decision tools those programmes needed and never got.

What I do

I work at the intersection of public health policy, programme implementation, quality improvement and digital innovation. As Country Lead for PATA’s HIVE Nigeria programme, supported by the Gates Foundation, I coordinate national and subnational efforts to strengthen triple elimination of HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis across 20 health care facilities in Adamawa and Delta States.

  • Differentiated service delivery
  • PMTCT
  • PrEP integration
  • Maternal and child health
  • Primary health care strengthening
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Continuous quality improvement
  • Government and partner coordination

I now combine this public health experience with AI, automation and digital product development to build tools that reduce administrative burden, identify service delivery gaps and support faster, evidence informed decisions.

MBChB, MPH. Recipient of the CQUIN Advances in Monitoring and Evaluation of Differentiated Service Delivery Award, Johannesburg, 2024. Contributor to Nigeria's 2024 National Guidelines for HIV Prevention, Treatment and Care, the WHO and UNAIDS global report on accelerating differentiated HIV testing and treatment delivery, and the Operational Manual for HIV Service Integration in Nigeria. Led the national pilot of the HIV Vertical Transmission Elimination Capability Maturity Model, since adopted in eight countries across Africa and Asia.

The problem

Antenatal services are frequently fragmented, forcing pregnant women to navigate separate services for HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis, PrEP and other health needs.

A practical framework for designing more integrated antenatal services. It helps teams map patient journeys, identify missed opportunities, select integration priorities and monitor implementation.

Triple Elimination of HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis Readiness Assessment

Concept in development

The problem

Health facilities lack a consistent and efficient way to determine whether their PMTCT systems are ready for triple elimination of HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis.

A digital facility assessment tool that scores readiness, identifies gaps and classifies facilities as Ready, Partially Ready or Priority Support Required. It can automatically generate recommended corrective actions and escalate urgent gaps for human review.

PMTCT Maturity Assessment Toolkit

Concept in development

The problem

Programme teams often collect assessment findings manually without converting them quickly into prioritised improvement plans.

A structured toolkit that evaluates PMTCT performance across testing, treatment, viral load monitoring, early infant diagnosis, retention, commodities, data systems and community linkages. Results are converted into maturity scores and facility level action plans.

Automation

The Triple Elimination of HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis Readiness (TER) tool helps health programmes answer one question: which facilities are struggling to prevent mother to child transmission, what exactly is going wrong, and what should they fix first. A facility completes a simple digital assessment and the system does the rest.

How it works

  1. 01

    Facility submits assessment

  2. 02

    System validates responses

  3. 03

    Readiness score calculated

  4. 04

    Priority gaps identified

  5. 05

    Action plan generated

  6. 06

High risk issues routed for review

What the system checks

  • Testing during pregnancy
  • Treatment and viral load
  • PrEP
  • Delivery and postnatal services
  • Infant testing
  • Mother and baby follow up
  • Commodities and staffing
  • Data quality

Three levels of result

Doing well

Continue monitoring

Needs improvement

Some gaps need attention

Priority support needed

Important gaps need human or programme review

What a result looks like

Problem
Babies exposed to HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis are not being followed consistently
System gap
Weak mother and baby tracking
Recommended action
Review the tracking process and assign responsibility for follow up
Status
Action pending, tracked until resolved

Why it matters

Instead of visiting 100 facilities or reading 100 reports, a programme manager sees which facilities need attention first and why. Built for Ministries of Health, implementing partners and donors: not another checklist, but a decision support and accountability system for triple elimination of HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis.

Time saved

Designed to reduce manual scoring, report drafting and follow up administration.
